tha0ie is Australia’s latest pop rap artist. Pronounced “tao-we”, she is a songwriter, rapper and entrepreneur born and raised in Melbourne. She marries hip-hop beats and rap bars with strong melodic hooks and catchy tunes. She revels in writing riddles, forming juxapositions, merging and simplifying syllables to alter language, life experiences to give them new meaning. With Vietnamese and Cambodian heritage, tha0ie is an Asian-Australian who is fluent in English and Vietnamese and has dabbled with Greek, Japanese and Arabic language.

With over 15 years’ experience in psychology, marketing, linguistics and creative writing, tha0ie is a linguist and lyricist where all lyrics are original. Her lyrics are spicy with attitude, and aims to make her listeners’ brains think, hearts feel and souls love. 

tha0ie aims to create change in the hip-hop industry. Historically, rap music has been known to increase suicide rates, especially among tweens and adolescents. tha0ie aims to entertain and improve people’s wellbeing by focussing on mental strength, resilience and love. She believes her pop rap music can manifest to help people make better choices in life, and that the medical community and the hip-hop world can embrace the possibility of breaking down mental health barriers even further.

Some of her musical influences are Tupac Shakur, Michael Jackson, Aaliyah, Beyoncé, Eminem, Pharrell Williams, Drake and Jay-Z. tha0ie entertains and inspires the next generation with her life experiences, leaving a legacy for life.

To date, tha0ie has performed at the South Asian Festival in Melbourne, at business events and also at RIPE Hip Hop scene in Melbourne.
